In 2017, Paris welcomed more than 16 million international visitors, mostly tourists from Europe, North & South America and Asia. Despite the attacks of 2015, the city of Paris has kept its worldwide reputation and is still today in the top three most visited cities in the world just behind Bangkok and London.
In the recent years, websites such as Air BnB saw the number of tourist rentals on Paris increasing strongly. During 2017, for the capital alone, more than 65,000 accommodations were available on the Air BnB site, including more than 20,000 in the first four districts of Paris helping increasing mass tourism in these parts of Paris.
Mass tourism is found mainly around historical sites of the French capital and is particularly concentrated between the Tuileries Garden, the Louvre Museum, Notre Dame de Paris, the St Germain district and the Sacré Coeur Basilica.
