After the Main Bath, Sangam, India

Sangam is one of the holiest sight in India. Each year, during the Magh Mela, millions of pilgrims gather to bath and purify themselves in the sacred water of the Ganges river, the Yamuna river and the Saraswati river (the latest one belonging to the hindu mythology).

In 2012, I visited it just after the main Magh Mela’s baths. All the pilgrims and sadhus were gone leaving Sangam an empty surreal place with a few hundred lampposts spread all over the place.
